Adriana Rodriguez de Valentini graduated from the International Midwifery Pre-registration Program at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2015, after which she began working at West End Midwives (WEM). WEM provides services to an underserved and marginalized population in northwest Toronto. Rodriguez enjoys working with this population and is a strong supporter of diversity, equity and antiracism. She has been a preceptor for the Midwifery Education Program for several years and has also played different roles as a teaching assistant, contract lecturer and now an assistant professor. Rodriguez has worked in the research areas of breast cancer and diabetes in pregnancy.
Rodriguez graduated in 1989 from the Medical School of the University of La Plata, Argentina, and, in 1996, completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University Central of Venezuela. She moved to Canada in 2005 and worked for four years at Women’s College Hospital, where she completed a Master of Science at the Institute of Medical Science, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Subsequently, she worked another four years at Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto.
