I hold a doctorate in sociology and specialise in qualitative criminological research. My current research examines the relationship between video surveillance and police authority, with a twist. Rather than exploring how police officers use surveillance cameras to monitor crime, I study the use of smartphone cameras to monitor the police. My research has led to many publications which offer insights into police experiences in the era of smartphone cameras and YouTube.
