Bio/Research

Dr. Erentzen is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University with a specialization in social psychology and the law. She received her PhD from York University and completed a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Toronto. Prior to this, she received a law degree from Queen’s University and practiced as a lawyer at the Ontario Bar. Her main research focuses on the intersection of law and social psychology and the mechanisms underlying perceptions of victims of prejudice, hate crime and legal inequality. Additional research interests include wrongful convictions, jury decision-making, treatment of marginalized identities within the law, religious minority rights and gender-based violence and harassment.
