Bio/Research

My research interests lie at the intersection of capital markets and the real economy. In particular, my research focuses on capital structure and corporate governance. My latest working papers examine the effects of stronger creditor rights protection on capital markets, the role of FinTech in combating the Covid-19 pandemic, conflict between creditors, shareholders and managers and the effects of political uncertainty on firms’ real decisions. My research has been presented at some of the top conferences in finance including the American Finance Association and the Northern Finance Association.

While completing my PhD at the Schulich School of Business, I was recognized twice (2019, 2020) by the Dean for Teaching Excellence.
