Bio/Research

Evan Pavka is interested in the interrelations between power, memory, gender, sexuality, media and the built environment. These investigations often manifest through various forms of writing and publishing that examine emerging and historical works as part of a spectrum to weigh upon the present. His writings on art, architecture, design and contemporary culture have appeared in various popular and academic platforms including Azure, AnInterior, The Architect’s Newspaper, Article, Canadian Art, Canadian Interiors, DAMN, Disc, Field, Icon, idea journal, Inflection, Lunch, Pidgin, Plat, Pool, NUVO and -SITE, among others. His creative and scholarly work has been presented in Banff, Brighton, Chicago, Detroit, Gimpo, Montreal, Ottawa, Oxford, Toronto, San Francisco, Stockholm and Vancouver. He currently serves as Associate Editor of Interiors: Design/Architecture/Culture and routinely contributes to national and international journals.
