Dr. Hossein Zolfagharinia received his undergraduate and master's degrees in industrial engineering. Afterwards, he earned his PhD in operations and supply chain management from the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition to his academic background, Dr. Zolfagharinia has several years of professional work experience as a business methods analyst, and gained experience in the area of logistics and supply chain management through managing projects in industries such as trucking transportation, maritime transportation), and health care.

Dr. Zolfagharinia is the co-editor of a book, and the author of a book chapter and over 15 top-tier refereed articles in A and A* rated journals, based on the ABDC list. These journals include: European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Research: Parts B, D, & E, Omega- The International Journal of Management Science, International Journal of Production Economics, Computers & Industrial Engineering, and Computers & Operations Research. Dr. Zolfagharinia frequently presents his work at scholarly/professional conferences at both the national and international levels such as: Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) Annual Conference, Annual meeting of Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS), Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) Annual Meeting, and Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) Conference.
