Dr. Irfan Butt is an Assistant Professor at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. His research interests include consumer behaviour, digital marketing and emerging markets. He has authored several papers using systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis. He has published in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing, the International Journal of Contemporary & Hospitality Management, the Journal of Consumer Marketing, the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Energy Economics and the Journal of Economic Survey.
He uses experiential learning and business simulations as primary teaching pedagogy. He has also received best teacher awards. He serves as an external examiner for PhD and Master Thesis in addition to supervising Master students. He regularly reviews papers for journals and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Business Ecosystems and the International Journal of Business and Data Analytics. As an invited guest speaker, he has given talks at universities and conferences in Canada, the USA, Pakistan, and Oman.
He received his PhD from Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, Canada, MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona State University, USA and BA from The College of Wooster, USA.
