Dr. Kenneth Kalu is an Assistant Professor in Global Management Studies at the Ted Rogers School of Management. He joined Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) from The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a Visiting Research Scholar. Professor Kalu’s research focuses on the nature and evolution of economic and political institutions in developing countries. He is particularly interested in examining how economic and political institutions shape and are shaped by the business environment in Africa’s emerging markets. His research also explores the nature and dynamics of investment flows from developing countries into other developing countries. Along this line, his work examines the intended and unintended impacts of these investment flows on the domestic policies of the host country.
Prior to returning to the academia, Professor Kalu held senior executive positions in the public and private sectors in Canada and overseas. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Accounting, M.Sc. in Finance, M.A in Economics and a PhD in Public Policy.
