Born in Tehran, Iran, Dr. Keyvan Eslami received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tehran in 2008 and his master’s degree in socio-economic systems engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2011.
During this period, Mr. Eslami was a researcher at the Sharif Institute of Economic Studies and the Central Bank of Iran’s Monetary and Banking Research Institute. These collaborations continued until his passion for macroeconomics led him to pursue a PhD in economics at the University of Minnesota. There, he was employed as an instructor at the university and worked as a research analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mr. Eslami applied his research knowledge in macroeconomics and public finance to developing computational methods rooted in his engineering background to tackle questions related to health, health policy and health insurance markets, wealth inequality and income dynamics, and intergenerational mobility.
