Kim Varma received her PhD and MA in Criminology from the University of Toronto and BA (Sociology) from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her research examines community crime prevention, child protection and civic engagement, youth justice policy and the operation of the youth justice system in Canada. She has authored books, peer-reviewed articles and chapters on crime prevention and communities, public perceptions of crime and the criminal justice system, youth sentencing, and youth bail.
