Dr. Mahsa Madani joined the faculty of the Ted Rogers School of Management in 2020 as an assistant professor in global management studies. She earned her Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a minor in Optimization and Statistics, from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec. She also earned the Project Management Certificate from Chang School of Continuing Education, Toronto Metropolitan University.
Her research focuses on data analytics with applications in three main streams; (i) environment and health, (ii) business management, and (iii) sustainability and environmental management. In the first stream, she is working on the development and applications of modern data mining/machine learning techniques in analytics with selected cases in environment and health policy. The second stream mainly focuses on optimization techniques and statistical analysis to help the health policymakers and disaster management agencies address how to prepare an effective emergency preparedness plan for our growing senior community in Canada. Finally, in the last stream of her research, Dr. Madani has been applying optimization and statistical analysis tools to address sustainability and environmental management problems. The main goal of this stream focuses on how to optimize the efficiency of environmental process in a real waste management system to minimize the greenhouse gas emission.
