I am an associate professor in the School of Early Childhood Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). Prior to coming to TMU in 2007, I worked in the preservice and graduate programs at the Faculty of Education, York University. I have also worked extensively with primary and junior-aged children as an educator in the inner city schools of Toronto for 23 years.
I have presented at international conferences such as the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the European Early Childhood Educational Research Association (EECERA). I have also presented at the annual Canadian Society for Studies in Education (CSSE) conferences. In 2007, I was an invited keynote at a conference in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, Brazil, speaking on the Imaginative landscape of the child: Experiencing the multiple literacies of child art.
