Bio/Research

Dr. Nima Naghibi is Associate Professor of English at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) in Toronto. She teaches and researches in the areas of postcolonial, diasporic studies, literatures of immigration and exile, and life narratives with particular attention to questions of human rights and social justice. She is the author of Women Write Iran: Nostalgia and Human Rights from the Diaspora (Minnesota Press, 2016) and Rethinking Global Sisterhood: Western Feminism and Iran (Minnesota Press, 2007). Her essays have appeared in such journals as English Studies in Canada, Interventions: an International Journal of Postcolonial Studies; Radical History Review, and Biography: an Interdisciplinary Quarterly.
