Dr. Owais Khan is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). He was formerly a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pediatrics Cardiology at Stanford University, funded by fellowships from NSERC and American Heart Association. He received his undergraduate and graduate education in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto; the latter in joint affiliation with the University of Oslo and Simula Research Lab (Norway) where he conducted 20% of his doctoral training. Among other distinctions, Dr. Owais Khan is the recipient of several national and international awards, most notably the 2019 Baxter Young Investigator Award, the 2018 Montevecchi Young Investigator Award (Italy) and 2016 MITACS Globalink Award.
