Bio/Research

Dr. Seth Dworkin joined the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) in 2011. Prior to joining the university, he was a Post-doctoral fellow and Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. Dr. Dworkin did his graduate work at Yale University and an internship at École Polytechnique in France.

His research focuses on mitigating fossil fuel emissions and developing sustainable alternatives to combustion. He is actively involved in research on mitigating the atmospheric emissions of soot particles and the development of geothermal heating and cooling alternatives. His research into combustion particle emissions is aiding the design of cleaner engines and power plants. He also performs research toward the optimization of geo-exchange systems.

Dr. Dworkin’s work is impacting the fields of clean air and renewable energy through new techniques in high-performance computer simulation. He has published 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles throughout his career.
