Dr. Vincent H. Chan, P.Eng., is an Associate Professor. After working for a number of years in the automotive industry as a tool design engineer in Windsor, Ontario, Dr. Chan decided to return to academia. He currently teaches and performs research in the area of Advanced Manufacturing.
Research interests primarily focus on automating the collection and recognition of data points for the geometric reverse engineering of industrial objects and for quality control. This involves the use of photonics for metrology applications, especially as it pertains to manufacturing issues. Other interest includes rapid prototyping methods and using on-line sensors for quality control manufacturing.
