Yi Luo's research interests relate to audit standard setting and regulation, as well as contemporary issues such as the impact of pandemics on auditors and how gender influences investors’ decision making. Her work has been published in FT50 journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, and Journal of Business Ethics. Yi obtained Honours Bachelor of Commerce from University of Toronto and Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) designation while working in a Big 4 firm in Toronto.
