Bio/Research

Zorianna Zurba completed her PhD in Communication and Culture, a joint program between Toronto Metropolitan University and York University. She holds an MA in Popular Culture, as well as a TESOL Certificate. Zorianna has taught writing and learning skills for over a decade to both college and university students. Her dissertation, Funny Feelings, explored the interrelationship between the cinematic experience and love.

Zorianna's areas of research interest and supervision interest include: the philosophy of love, the phenomenology of cinematic experience, film studies, affect studies/affect theory, popular culture, posthumanism, interpersonal communication, and the mediatization of everyday life.
