Bio/Research
Diana Pirner is an associate professor in the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing. She currently teachies a variety of courses in the Post-Diploma Degree Completion Program, including: Health Assessment, Concepts in Contemporary Nursing Practice, and Gerontological and Geriatric Nursing. Pirner also acts as a faculty advisor to graduate students and is involved in graduate student supervision. She has been involved in the curriculum design and development of a variety of courses, programs, and collaborations, including: IPE Certificate In Advanced Neuroscience Stroke Care and the University of West Indies School of Nursing Online Nursing Degree Completion Program.
Pirner’s research interests include curriculum development, associated with different modes of deliveries and processes, such as interprofessional education, online deliveries, and the use of technology in teaching and learning. Her other research interests include the impact of life course experiences on the aging process and the effects of PSTD on aging. She completed her Master’s in Nursing and Master’s Collaborative Program in Aging and the Life Course at the University of Toronto and her PhD at Calgary University.
